Designing solutions for the future: Gia’s path to Industrial Engineering

My name is Gia Carvallo and I have been accepted to the University of Lima, where I will study Industrial Engineering. This new chapter represents years of learning, curiosity and dedication, and marks the beginning of an exciting stage filled with new challenges and opportunities.

I have always been interested in understanding how things work and how they can be improved. That curiosity for analysing processes, finding solutions and thinking strategically led me to discover my interest in Industrial Engineering. I am motivated by the idea of optimising systems, organising processes and creating solutions that can make a real impact on organisations and people.

During my time at school, I had the opportunity to explore different areas of knowledge and develop skills that I know will be essential for my future studies. Projects, teamwork and academic challenges taught me to think analytically, organise ideas and look for creative ways to solve problems. Over time, I realised that what I enjoy most is finding more efficient ways of doing things and turning ideas into real results.

Looking back, one of the most valuable lessons from my school experience was understanding that challenges are also opportunities to grow. The constant support from my teachers and the encouraging environment within the school community helped me build confidence in my abilities and take on new challenges with determination.
“Great change often begins with a single well-thought-out idea.”
