Discover How Our Fundamental Pillars Help Each Student Thrive

Cambridge College Lima provides a well-rounded education rooted in values such as empathy and respect. Our goal is to deliver a multilingual, personalised learning experience that reflects international standards of excellence. We also place a strong emphasis on nurturing students’ sporting and artistic talents from the early years, and ensure they get involved with social responsibility and student voice initiatives. Ultimately, we foster a strong national identity by celebrating the Peruvian culture while promoting a broader international outlook.

Discover the essential pillars that support and enrich our international curriculum below.

Celebrating the Peruvian National Identity

While we place significant importance on international programmes and global outreach, courses addressing the national reality hold a vital place in our curriculum.

Spanish Communication Programme

Our Comunicación programme aims to cultivate mastery of Spanish, our students' mother tongue, foster accurate reading comprehension, and develop clear and concise writing skills. It also inspires students to appreciate the richness of Peruvian, Latin American, and Iberian literature.

History of Peru Programme

History of Peru Programme

Students explore Peru's rich history and culture through engaging lessons and activities. Our Historia del Perú programme deepens their understanding by connecting them to historical events through visits to local sites and field trips across the country's diverse regions.

Geography Programme

Geography Programme

What sets our Geografía programme apart is the opportunity for students to explore Peru's diverse regions first-hand. By studying their features and challenges directly on-site, rather than through photos, students develop a deeper understanding of the nation's geography.

A Values-Based Education

An essential pillar of a Cambridge College Lima education is the reinforcement of a value system rooted in responsibility, honesty, truth, solidarity, tolerance, fair play, and, above all, respect.

This commitment is reflected in the school’s efforts to complement the values instilled by parents, supported through our excellent Tutor Programme, pastoral care initiatives, and, most importantly, by consistently reinforcing our value system in every moment students spend at school.

Spiritual Guidance

Cambridge College Lima is a non-denominational school that respects diverse religious beliefs while offering students opportunities to explore important values and traditions. Catholic religion courses are available from 1st Grade, with preparation for the sacraments of First Communion in 4th Grade and Confirmation in 4th Year of Secondary, conducted by a priest appointed by the Archdiocese outside school hours.

The school provides a Moral Studies course for families seeking an alternative to the Religion course. Moral Studies focuses on universal values, ethics, and moral reasoning. Through this inclusive approach, we support the personal and spiritual growth of all students.

Empowering Students Through Leadership and Active Participation

Through our social action committees, environmental committee (Cambridge Green), nutrition committee (Cambridge Nutrition), and uniform committee (Cambridge Uniform), students actively engage in school decision-making processes. They also have opportunities to join the Student Council, take part in the Mediators Programme for conflict resolution, and actively participate in weekly assemblies. These experiences help them understand the importance of making positive contributions to their peers and the wider school community, developing essential future-ready skills including public speaking, problem-solving, active listening, leadership, and collaboration.

Social Responsibility – Cambridge Action

Social Responsibility – Cambridge Action

The 'Cambridge Action' committee unites students, parents, teachers, and other school staff to not only raise funds but also actively participate in social responsibility programmes that support the most vulnerable members of Peruvian society.

The spirit of social responsibility is deeply embedded in many school activities, from the Proyectos Solidarios (solidarity and community service projects) initiatives in Junior School to the Techo programme in Senior School.

Cambridge Green – Protecting the Environment

Cambridge Green – Protecting the Environment

Cambridge Green aims to raise awareness about the inherent fragility of the environment and the importance of protecting it for future generations. Promoting a commitment to sustainable development at every level is an ongoing effort that requires creativity and dedication from the members of the Cambridge Green environmental committee.

In addition to organising the school's recycling programme, they coordinate several events throughout the year in collaboration with other schools and the local community. These include Green Travel Day, Tree Marathon, Beach Cleaning, Earth Week, and the Conference on Education for Sustainable Development. Through these initiatives, students actively contribute to environmental sustainability and gain valuable experience in community engagement.

House System

Pembroke | Ridley | Selwyn | Trinity

Collaboration and teamwork are key aspects of school life, and our House System embodies this tradition, inspired by British schools worldwide.

Our students join one of four Houses—Pembroke, Ridley, Selwyn, or Trinity—named after Cambridge University colleges in England. Throughout the year, they compete in a range of sporting and non-sporting events, earning points for their House. At the end of the school year, Houses receive shields for individual disciplines, and the coveted House Cup is awarded to the House with the highest overall score.
